I don't usually go out in the weekend. I probably am the most ungrateful young'un who live in Bali for never go out on weekend/ after hour searching nor experiencing something new. i'm boring like that.

Anyway, i spent this afternoon doing major cleaning up of my kost-kostan room. I had to bring some chairs outside the room to set some space for cleaning. Apparently that was an inspirational thing to do. Whilst waiting for the floor to dry, i went outside and had a sit. Sky is blue, cloud is fluffy, sun is being bitchy but it cooled down after a while. I took a picture of that uplifting moment of my life as a young girl who live alone slash a soloist slash doesn't have any friend. here you goooh:

1. I'm still having that post-gig syndrome from Suede concert last week. But it's not as bad as before (Franz Ferdinand). My current job forces me to keepin' it real!

2. I've been through 2 Damon Albarn's Birthday and this Blurzine still hasn't finished yet. What is wrong with me?

3. I'm aiming to go to London to see Damon Albarn plays Doctor Dee (the ultimate rennaisance man?). Either Manchester International Festival 2011 or London 2012 Festival. Or whenever Blur ever release their recording session (does it mean an LP in 6 years!?) and possibly have some tour dates. Graham's new release will also be perfect reason to go to.

4. Because by then, I will be ticking off the list of my Top-4-Artist-according-to-last.fm i've seen live.

Suede, for the second time in life.

Despite the amount of cash i've spent to afford the concert tix and flight tix, I have to admit i had no regret whatsoever flying to jakarta for the weekend to see Suede. After their first concert on 2003, i never thought they would make a comeback to jkt. I was friggin excited, i didn't even care if i had to trade-in my old nokia phone with a new Blackberry to get the ticket. I'm rich like that haha. I dislike Blackberry, never had interest to own one so i only bought that for me mom... and for the ticket quite frankly. I didn't get involved in any hoo-haa of the fans' anger towards the ticketing system. I lurked behind the shadow and watch the tweet goes by until the day i finally see him.  

YES, I AM BLESSED to have witnessed brett andesrson shaking his hip to the beat, whipping his floppy fringe to the sound of music and watching he teased the crowd with his button-unbuttoned shirt act. That chest hair, that evil HIPBONE! ah my eyes! holy mother of FRINGE! HE IS GODLY.  

Front row never go wrong. Took some guts and couple of unfriendly faces from the teenageboppers when you're trying to get in there. But me and the gang reached it nonetheless. Front row, Brett's side - that's where i want to be that night.

Didn't take a great stage photo that night, but i still have some interesting picture to share. hehe

though i'm a bit further behind with the presscon and meet&greet thingy- yes they held the presscon while i was still in my work desk in Bali. unfair! - Nonetheless, i still managed to catch up with ze band. Based on my Franz Ferdinand pursuit experience, I went to the hotel where they stayed the morning after, the plan is to bump into one of'em when they pop up in the lobby or having breakfast.  

Too bad this time i didn't managed to have a decent short convo with them, due to the number of fans who also want to have a piece of the cake. It has became an aggresive act if there're more than 2-4 people ask for sigs and pics. So taking a photo with them is enough for me.  

Sunday evening, I flew back to Bali with lots of story and memorabilia (that infamous cut-out and re-print setlist) one thing i know when i got back at my place is that I'm so friggin knackered i'm almost passed out in bed. no kiddin'. i didn't have proper sleep after concert (stayed at nunu's place) and at the very morning dragged myself up to the hotel. I didn't even manage to come home, pack my stuffs and say goodbye to my dog, Leslie.  

Twas a great quick escapade for the weekend. Made me realize i need to loosen up a bit from the work routine. Need to do something else besides worrying about tomorrow's task and to-do list. Basically i need whatever to keeps me sane living here alone.

Thanks for coming to Jakarta for the second time Banderson and co. Thanks to whoever brought them here.   (Is it Ismaya or Blackberry?)

In early August, as my first week moving to Bali, i was lucky enough to be able to see Ian Brown perform in Hard Rock Cafe. I sadly thought i would have to fly to Jakarta to see him and Kula Shaker, but then no need to cos he played Bali also :) ze girl got lucky!

This is by far the best memorabilia i've ever had. After he finished "Corpses in Their Mouth" he surprisingly came towards me and gave me his harmonica. As he turned his back, he left me jawdropped. :OOO *bursted into tears of happiness* i feel like i deserved it though :))

I'm dying to finish this project, it's been on hiatus since March and i have no passion anymore to continue this project. Above are postcards that had been sent to a few. Others are just left untouched. i need to be inspired, am feeling less passionate about it since office work simply took it from me. I'm like a routine zombie. do not want! I wanna spend a day working on this project, drawing, making stuff, etc etc without worrying that tomorrow first thing in the morning, i must get up and get ready to work. *sigh* Feel like wanting the old me back, the ultimate lazy-arse unemployed Nadya who has mooore time to work on this and that all day long, even make her zine done! *achievement*
until now i really have no idea what to do with this outstanding project, i'm a mess ;___;

Nothing Beats The Excitement of Receiving Postcard in the Mail

Read about the postcard project i been doing recently. To cut a long story short, i sent a diy postcard to people who wanted it. They received the postcard weeks later, they took a picture of them with the postcard or just the postcard alone. They sent the photos to me via email, i compile them photos into a zine. and voila! Sugaryzine #1 : Nothing Beats The Excitement of Receiving Postcard in the Mail.

Unfortunately, some postcards get lost in heaven, heaven of postcards. Yeah they've never got into the receiver's mailbox. Was so worried and anxious for not getting reply from some people who haven't received it. on the other hand, the zine need to be done immediately (for the exhibition). So i had this idea to make an alternative series of the zine, that is Sugaryzine #1: Nothing Beats The Anxiety of Loosing Postcard in the Mail.

Lucky, i've scanned the original postcards before sending them in. So i still can put the name of the people who didn't receive the postcard and apologize. 2 people in that series actually received it, but it was me who not received their photos. hehe.

Postcard project update

It's been 2 weeks since i posted the postcards and i'm getting worried because most people haven't received theirs. I already have 9/10 people notified me they've received the postcard, 5 of them have sent their photos via email. I think i'm gonna extend the deadline until Dec 19. After that, i'm afraid i can't put you in the zine that will be submitted for the exhibition. But i'm still gonna put you in the non-exhibited zine and you still can see the final result of it.
I will have to do that because the deadline is on Jan 8 2010 and i need to send the zine like 2 weeks before the deadline.
Thank you very much for your understanding. I hope the postcard get to your house soon as i post this blog entry. ;)

4. Got this christmas card from Tiaz Taylor 2 weeks ago. Was running to front door when i saw the envelope laid on the garage floor, to find this.

5. Well, it's actually an old stuff Tiaz Taylor sent me around 2006/2007. But i happened to find the envelope when i was searching thru my old treasure. The package come with a happy birthday card and this 'Lambretta' purse. i like this purse alot, it's nifty. You can tell by the look of it, quite use it a lot.

6. Lovely packages of Time Out London with Blur on the cover and a print out of Bob London's drawing from Mr. Bob London himself. Nice chap!

My Blur family reunion / How first time we met.

Last year, i made post celebrating the news of Blur reunion. I remember wrote Christmas comes early and all. It was dated mid december. I thought this would good year for Blur fans around the globe. We celebrated it with joy and happiness. Though some of them, mostly non-UK fans, could only dream watching them live at Hyde Park.
They did it again last week. They announced the Blur film "No Distance Left To Run" to be open in cinemas WORLDWIDE on January 2010. Feels like December 2008 all over again. Though it's late November, but still. We, Blur fans around the globe reunited again for this news :D

I'm gonna submit work for an upcoming exhibition that will be held by cut-click. The exhibition themed is mail art. I already have the idea in my head but i'm gonna need your contribution for this project.

The big draw is very easy! I'm gonna send each of you a personal postcard right to your front door. But you have to tell me, "What makes you very happy when you receive mails/packages on your mailbox?"

It could be anything, like "I miss you, wish you were here" words, or photo of someone you love the most, a nice and warm greet from an old friend, or maybe just the feeling that someone is actually care for you, or even stuff you ordered from eBay! Anything you can think of. It's easy beesy like sunday morning, innit? :))

And one last thing, I need you to send me back the documentation of that postcard. This could be photo of you with that postcard. or just a scan of the postcard with your personal comments. Get creative/witty/crazy as you can be with the feedback. I will appreciate every form of it.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS THE IMPORTANT BIT, because your feedback (the documentation, photo or scans) would be the origin artwork of what i'm gonna working on.

You Could Have It So Much Better, If You Tried - A story about The Pursuit of Franz Ferdinand

I tried my best to write this story in english. pardon the broken english. :3

Franz Ferdinand on Embassy Playground Jakarta was the best concert i've ever seen in my entire career life as an avid music fan. There are several international bands had come to Indonesia, but none of them are my favourite. Except for Suede in 2003. So i can not miss this opportunity to make the most of my fangirl heart.

Since i heard the news on twitter that Franz Ferdinand were going to play Embassy Playground this November, I had had feeling that this would be a surreal experience for me. It's Franz Fucking Ferdinand, my friend. They've been my favourite since my college years. I imagined myself taking picture with Alex Kapranos, he signs my CD and any other things that a fan girl can dream on. But i do understand that there's little chance of me meeting them after/before set. Well i might not have privilege access to the backstage, but surely i could put myself on the first row from the stage.

So there i was, waiting for almost 3 hours with my friend Febi, watching 3 bands and 1 DJ performance that i barely know. Only to took a stand for my best spot, first row on Bob Hardy's side. That time i could feel my back, my waist and my legs were killing me. They weren't so cooperative. Then i remembered that i hadn't eaten nor drunk anything that evening. oh well.

Their performance was GREAT! And being at the first row was so magical. It feels like it's just me and the band, making love connection, sing along and dance to their song like mad while secretly cry my heart out. :) i was a happy bunny.
To hell with it, they finished up the set with a trancey-outro of Lucid Dreams. *heck yeah, i was stunned O_____O*
One by one, they walked out the stage. Alex walked out by jumping off the stage and grab crowd's hands from middle row to the left. Feel gutted that I was on the right side, oh me and my poor soul, hoping he would come back. but that didn't happen, yeah.

There was a hole in my heart after that performance, i dunno, i just felt like something went missing. I wandered around the event site and met several friends. I met Adit, my 'ticket agent' haha, he gave me important news that they stayed at Mercure Hotel, and then my high school friend Relly, she told me that a group of girls in front of her said thing like this " Gila! The Killers-nya keren banget ya" ("Fuck yeah, this ~THE KILLERS~ band is so cool ya!") muahaha.. lulzworthy. Then another friend of mine, Marsha, she was going to backstage, she asked me to come with her, maybe i could catch a glimpse of Franz Ferdinand. But i refused, knowing that i couldn't pass the security guard nonetheless. Then she called me on the phone and said, i should've come with her earlier because they just ready to leave the gig and give hug to several people. Well there goes my dream to meet them in person. *sigh*

Me and my friend Febi, who i went with, decided to walk out the gig. We had this crazy thought "why don't we go to the hotel, maybe we have the chance to catch them up." Well, It's 1am already, no buses and if we tried to get a taxi it's equal with robbery, From Ancol (in North Jakarta) to my house (in Tangerang) is MILES AND MILES AWAY. So yeah, we just follow our heart, we walked to the Mercure Hotel, please note, even though this hotel is still located in the same area with the event site, but it's quite a distance between them. And we tried to reach there on our feet, Yeah i was wearing boots that night, i barely can feel my feet, but i hummed The Stone Roses' Fools Gold in my heart:

Fortunately i didn't wear backpack that could cause my back from aching and its straps would cut me like a knife. :p

We got there at 2am, We sneaked out at the parking area. We sat on the bench that usually used by driver for waiting. We had no plans at all. Because we just walked and walked and walked without knowing what would happen next. Oh such a useless girl we are. The only thing we did believe for an excuse of this crazy thing we do is that they're gonna fly home the next day. And here we are already, in front of the hotel where they stay. If we went home now, we do understand what we're loosing. If we went home now, we would regret this forever in our lifetime. So we stayed on that bench, sat quietly. I know two of us were actually nervous, especially me and my twisted mind. I'm just afraid people will judge us as a stalker, no we didn't want to stalk them, in creepy way. We had all the reason to be here, beside we didn't know how to get home at that time of hour. And we already been there! So yeah we just waited silently. No plan at all. In the cold of the night. Oh well. i felt shallow. :(

Afraid of getting caught by the security, i made up a scenario about two of us:
We are two college girls from Bandung who went to Jakarta just to see Franz Ferdinand live. And we waited for our bus back to Bandung that was scheduled to be arrived at 10am.
I'm such a masterplan, i also plan how we would get in to the lobby hotel. I know hotel is open for everyone, but we are such a mess that time. I didn't think the security would be pleased by it. :p It's 4am already. We were still waiting outside the hotel, then i thought we need someone to notice our existence here in this parking area, so that we could play the scenario about two college girls from Bandung and ask permission to wait in the lobby hotel or just to use the toilet. Then here comes the godsent security, noticing us. Then Feby handled the talking, because i'm no good at lying. hehe. Finally we got the bless from security, he said it's okay if we want to wait in the lobby. Well i got to think, we could've just done this at first place, waiting at the lobby from 2am, but i think i'm just afraid of what people think about us when they saw us. We wanted to be as invisible as we can.

2 stages of the plan had been done. We're in! *so much win* it's almost 5am. My next plan was to catch them up while they're having breakfast. 6am and my stomach is swirling like hell. Morning sick mixed with panic attack. Toilet is the answer, we went in to the toilet back and forth. just can't handle the anxiousness.

Well well, All of sudden Nick showed up (!!!) He was alone, and heading to the restaurant, He passed us by and noticed these 2 strange girls. Eyes contact between me and Nick and i got freeze like a stone cold ice. DANG!! fuck yeah! :O

We didn't know what to do next, shall we come to him while he's having breakfast? NO! shall we wait him finished his breakfast? YES! so we waited again. I went to the toilet, AGAIN! This time i bump into Nick, who's just finished breakfast. i ran into the toilet, hahaha. so nervous!

Nick went upstairs with lift. We are so shallow, we got no guts just to say hi to him. oh stupid! now we waited for another more hour. We also moved to a better spot. Then here comes our man, Alex Kapranos himself, my friend. He's coming from our back, Febi noticed him and we both smiled to him, he smiled back and said "Hello, there!", (!!!) we went "Helloooo :)))" as he passed us by i asked him (foolishly) "When were you leaving?" (WTF! grammar fail!) he rather confused at first but then he answered " Oh not sure about it, maybe later" (well i kinda forget what he actually said, i already amazed by his -after shower- look) Then he continued walking to the restaurant. I noticed his walk is kinda bouncy like Alex James! :D Oh my! my fan girl heart is screaming, i can't not to smile, we were the happiest girl in the room.

Afterwhile, we saw him running to the lift, Febi called to him "Hi, Alex" and then he stopped. We asked to take a picture with him, he said it's okay! but i must be sure first that he wasn't in a hurry, and he said it's allright. We may take a picture with him, SQUEEEEEEE!! XD He even liked the Fujica M1 vintage cam i brought , i put a "NADYA" label on it and when he saw it he said, "That's a nice camera, i like her" :DDD he said HER!! gagaggagagagaga!! i'm so flattered.
He's very kind and humble to his fans. We talked about the gig, he said that night was very hot! haha talked about twitter, that he's got so many replies. and Febi said, we've been waiting for you for 6hours, then he went "oh really?, why didn't you met us last night, after the gig?", it's because we're late sir, (we walked for an hour just to get to the hotel) hehe. Febi said to him that she looked forward to see Paul, He said if we still want to hang around, we could get back to the hotel at 5pm, that's the time they checked out. He said we could meet all of the guys that time! Awww!! sure we couldn't refuse that invitation :)) hee.. We said Thank you very much for his time and he went upstairs.

Weeeeeee..... i felt so much WIN! it felt like 15yo all over again! When i came back to meet the other. I felt the lobby room was heating up. Too much Messer Franzypants in one room, we busy asked permission to take a photo, oh i even took a picture with Peter Hook! :O another WIN! When they ready to leave the hotel, One of the crew came to us and gave us this precious pick of Franz Ferdinand. I went bonkers and felt thank you so much to him. Geez!!! Could i be more happy than this? i don't think so. I now achieve level of an avid fan girl. Please don't kill me. :)

2009, i thought you're gonna be as sorrow as the late 2008. I was wrong! Summer 2009 and late 2009 is the bestest moment i've ever been into.
Fuck yeah pasttimes! :DDD

Can you imagine what would happen to me if Blur ever come to Indonesia? Because i can't. xD

Job test. Fail.

Have i been so busy lately?? Not really. But this last two week has been kinda hectic and rushy. By the way, i've sent my first job application last week. I built up my portfolio and sent it by mail. It only contains my illustration works, because in the job vacancy they said they were looking for 'Graphic Illustrator'.

Later, I got the job interview call up. So nervous i can't think of anything else. But lovely friends on twitter and errr.. facebook gave me nice words and supports, even Bob London 'thumbed up' my status. xD (That one really made my day!) So there i was, pessimist girl, trying to convince herself that everybody's also doing a job interview, there's no need to be nervous. plus you got lovely friends supporting you! :)

Turned out the job interview was actually a job test. (I'M SO NOT READY FOR THIS but I managed to keep calm and carry on) They were exactly looking for an advertorial graphic designer (err.. okay). So there i was, designing a magazine spread layout for certain beauty product. -_-' Silly me, instead of focus on my work, i overheard the job interview between the miss HRD and the job applicant in the next room. When i wake up to reality, i realized it was 15 minutes left for me to finish the design. i ran outta time. FFFFUUU! She gave me 2 hours and i was an half hour late. I knew i wouldn't make it, i've FAILED. haaaaaah!

But i'm gonna apply some more. One for a Clothing line and one for an ad agency. We'll see!!

I found this rather interesting because I am into this mixtape thing since i have my Sugarytape account on 8tracks. though my references on my music library hasn't been broadened out since my teenage year but i'm happy just to listen to them over and over again. Hence, you might only find music under Britpop tag on my Sugarytape. hehe.

According to the site, The Mixtape Club is an organization dedicated to the art of the mixtape. Ten people, ten tracks, ten album covers.

"A good compilation tape, like breaking up, is hard to do. You've got to kick off with a corker, to hold the attention and then you've got to up it a notch, or cool it a notch, and you can't have white music and black music together, unless the white music sounds like black music, and you can't have two tracks by the same artist side by side, unless you've done the whole thing in pairs and... oh, there are loads of rules."

Don't have a clue who the contributors behind this mixtape club and why them. But they did great job with the cover art for their own mixtape. This encourages me to redesign cover art for my Sugarytape. Here's the list of my favourite mixtape so far:

Ello ello! This week has been very exciting for me. First because i've been very creative and productive for the past week. I drew couple of things and I started drawing for my zine today (detail about this one in later post).

And second because my Envelop shop is officially open now! Yay! It is called Sugarytea. So far i've only submitted 1 design. But i'm gonna add some more later. you can purchase a tote bag with my Hapy Landfill illustration on it if you wish. in the other way, i'm still in the process of developing my self-identity. tbh i'm more interested on becoming a freelancer in illustrator/graphic design rather than being an office worker. but idk where the wind will take me. it's been 6 month after my final grad and i been doing nothing except exploring the wilderness of internerd world.

on my exploration, i've found my self interested in web design, art & craft stuff, want to become an etsy seller, want to sell my drawing, zines, etc. so many things i wanted to do and i wanted to be, but nothing i've done. :(

i promise myself i'll do something this month.. huhuhu wish me luck!

i hate distraction especially when i need to be highly focused on what i'm doing. no it's not about facebook/tumblr/twitter distraction. it's more about my dog's reflex action to almost anything unnecessary.

i'm alone at home, no one's at home except me and my dog. mom told me to wait for a packet from delivery guy. It's a guitar effect something that my brother just bought. okay so i wait while browsing thru internet. since tumblr is very quiet right now, no one post about Blur / Graham Coxon stuff, so i decided to leave laptop for a mo and start drawing. but ffs, my dog who is sleeping right under my table is frequently awakes and rushes into front door. i thought it was the delivery guy coming, so i went to the front door and disappointedly found out that there's no one in there. only bunch of kids who's passing my house, or tukang ojek who's stand by on the corner of the street. gee! Jinx you don't have to be such a jerk do you?
and it happens all the time until my mood on drawing is gone and i move to blog.

will this delivery guy come or not? i'm getting anxious right now. i wanna finish my drawing, but
it's like my mind is separated into two.

and by the time you read this post, he's still gonna barking on the front door. and i just don't care anymore. ha!

I judged a book by its cover, eeh not really. actually i just purchased a book about problem solving, though i couldn't see the connection between me and psychological reference book. well, it was all love at the first sight, look who i saw in the book cover? Allan Sanders's drawing for Allan's Sake :D

I'm gonna post another illustration in this book later on, soon as i finish reading it. err will i ever make it to the final page? i doubt that. hee..

Bob London should working on book illustration too. espesh for the international bestseller one, because that's the only way it'll reach my country, so i won't get problem purchasing it. hehe.. :)

i'm gonna make a new life with these beautiful things i've purchased on Pasar Baru (bags) and Pasar Senen (shoes). The first two bags on picture are similar with the one i already had. They were made in Nepal. When i went shopping for that bag i happened to wear the old one i have. The seller tried to convince me to buy her bag, She said i should buy them so i would have a collection of knitted colourful Nepal bag. hahah. what a shame, i bought'em anyway.

The white canvas bag is an old time fave. typical bag i love. i didn't think twice purchasing it. no regret. point

Well, as about the shoes, i dunno how to tell/feel. i really love the wingtip details in the front and the swing style with their black and white colour. the only thing i don't like is because they were resemble flat/pump summat summat shoes. typical shoes girls wear nowadays. huh -_-
but i'll get along with them.

The journey to the search of 'Outta My League, Dear' mp3 brought me to The Spinning Top leak album. i heard about this leak like a month ago but i just too lazy to properly browsed through the web searching for the download link. Since the link came to me instantly, why dont give it a try. :p

Through the viewfinder wannabe to steal your heart away

I've been browsing pictures and photos on people's blog, flickr and also facebook photo album (public view preset). They're all awesome and gorgeous pieces with a disturbingly beautiful vintage tone and feeling. I wonder how they achieve that. because i also want my digital photographs look like a lomo photos. hahaha. My guess it's the plug-in on photoshop who helps their photos look even way cooler. since i don't own a DSLR either photoshop plug-in. and all i've got is a toy cam, another toy cam, a range finder vintage cam, another inherit vintage cam, and one disposable kitsch camera which i bought on the traditional market outside the mosque. So what else can i do to steal your heart away? ugh.

then i remember this TtV group on flickr which i found long time ago. i always wanted to do this technique, but it requires the base camera like this one. somehow i remember reading about the possibility using a holga cam as the base camera. i mean by using the square holga viewfinder. hence the format of most photos on TtV group is square. i dunno if it's acceptable or not, since i've always been in a quick conclusion when i read about something interesting. So my interpretation of TtV is a technique of taking photos using any camera (digital or analog) through the viewfinder of any other cameras (anything that has viewfinder on it).

After revisiting the TtV group. i come with another conclusion that my attempt to do TtV like the one i've uploaded on my flickr is likely to be the decadence of the holy magnificent TtV techniques. I'll tell you a secret. I only use a toy cam as the base cam, not even a holga. -_- I have no guts to send them to the group pool. Otherwise, there's a group named Spinoff for the TtV wannabe out there. but still i can't found the back theory whether my shots are allowed or not. so i won't send it anyway. maybe just keep it for myself. or find another group related. maybe you know about this? feel free to comment on this post. spam your love on me :DD

Just made a self-promo poster for this blog. actually this is my first attempt to make a type-based poster using adobe illustrator. not bad, eh? humm with a lil bit of this and that, and not to mention i spilled a bottle of black ink onto the floor. yes! and ended up cleanin' it whilst watching alex kapranos on TV. a total mess. -..-
i can tell it's a bit grungy and raw on the style. but i simply love the sub headline that said "Blood, sweat and tears are nothing very complicated". i kudos myself for that achievement hahaha.. well i've been in a rollercoaster of life lately, that's where the Blood, sweat and tears phrase came from :d and i realized that this blog seems like a great escapade for me. Things like Blur, damon, graham, drawing, all that stuffs i loved. They keep me busy :)

I bought this Xfun magazine (which i never bought this kinda magazine before) from kinokuniya last week just because they featured some great illustrators. Xfun called their works as childish illustration.. a bit lame for me. but nevermind. i love all of their works though. Very inspiring that makes me want to drown myself into a sea of colour.. hummm i think i'm gonna teach myself colouring. and that makes the motion graphic lesson drops to no.2 on my list.

Graham tweet that he had a gig in a hat shop last wednesday. he also mentioned that he had to find a shoe shop and a suit shop. Can you imagine how addicted he was to that stuff? you can find out the answer here. a video of graham's residence. quite a messy place. but you can see some of his favourite stuff there, stack of hats, clothes and shoes, a cupboard filled with stripee blazers, the lederhosen (the one he felt he got raunchy when he wore them...hummm..okay). Everyone's soooo looking forward for Graham new album, they wondering what the sounds's going to be like. is it the lo-fi 'The Sky is Too High' or poppy ' Love Travels at Illegal Speed"? Could his website tell something? . It's not a spam darling :) there you can see some of his artwork. a bit creepy i must say. If you click on the eye, you can see some drawings and you can hear drumbeat. i guess that's the artwork will be like. and the music used for background, reminds me of essex dogs back to blur in 1997.

let me ask you a question, why is it so lucky being a blur fans this year? firstly, last december christmas came early for me when damon and graham met up for the first time after his (graham) departure from the band. to spice up some turkey dish, they also set up a reunion concert at hyde park this summer. mmmhhhh.. now we turn to march madness, with pete doherty new album Grace/Wasteland, on which graham coxon played guitars on most of the songs. By the time i wrote this blog, graham's twittering :

"home.fatigue.the shows with peter et al were super nice.paris is a blissful place.dauphinois and steak,cokes,hotel so posh i couldnt sleep!"

yes he just got home from paris after joining pete doherty's tour as the guitar player. but i don't tend to talk about pete here. so here's another madness to come this march, Graham's upcoming album. YAY!!!

Reminiscing the past

Hmm, i'm in my room now, listening to I wanna be adored by stone roses and just receive an email from uncut, telling me that June issues is for free. But why so excited? i live outside UK, i can't even text a message to the number they gave to have chance get the free issue. But the cover story makes me way more than excited. I saw familiar eyes and bowl haircut of someone when the pic's loading on my email.

Stone Roses it is. '20 Years On. Their Untold Story'. Mmm wondering what other stories i didn't know about'em. I used to be a stone roses whore back then, about 2/3 years ago. I met a guy on myspace (facebook wasn't popular that time) who run a web called this is the day break. This web thisisthedaybreak.co.uk give me more info than any others. the founder, Paul McAuley, wrote deep analysis about every songs and videos. this made me thing that the band is freakin genius on art, yet so religious. he also made a documentary of the stone roses on youtube here. I always recommend his web on my blog.

i dunno, but i was experienced everytime i visit the web, it's like i'm in a classroom studying ian brown and john squire's mind and somehow it related to the art studies i was studying at college that time. (estetika dan sejarah seni rupa barat huehehe) so it just clicked with me :) I suggest all the roses in the world to go to this is the day break for a nerdy experience exploring monkey's mind.

can't wait to go to kinokuniyo bookstore, the only bookstore that sells Uncut mags in Jakarta as far as i know and buy a copy. Anyway, fool's gold is now playing in my room, i suppose i'm baggying around now :) see ya!

Blur will play a live show in Hyde Park Summer 2009
Graham Coxon will join Alex James, Dave Rowntree and Damon Albarn onstage for this first time since their Royal Festival Hall performance in 2000.

The concert will take place at London’s Hyde Park on Friday 3rd July 2009.

Tickets will be on general sale from 9am Friday 12th December 2008 at www.livenation.co.uk. All tickets are £45.00, are limited to six per person, and subject to a booking fee. Promoters recommend fans purchase tickets from official outlets only.

Priority booking information will be sent out to all subcribers to the Blur list shortly.

A Very Possible Blur Reunion. YAY!

Damon Albarn has hinted that a Blur reunion could be on the cards after he recently met up with former guitarist Graham Coxon.

The singer said the pair had lunch and he is thinking about returning to his original band.

He said: "It's very possible I'll go back to Blur, it really is very possible.

"The truth be known Graham and I have been hanging out together a bit. We had lunch the other day."

Coxon left the band in 2002 to pursue a solo career while the remaining members went on to record their last release Think Tank, a year later.

Bassist Alex James hinted at a reunion in August 2007.

But when the band met up two months later they revealed on their official site that they "met up for an enjoyable lunch" but there were no "other music plans for Blur".

Albarn said it was good to see his old band member again.

He added: "He's great, it's fantastic to get my old friend back. So it's good but I can't really say any more than that."

Over the last five years, the Blur frontman has become heavily involved with side projects The Good, The Bad And The Queen, Africa Express and his other band Gorillaz who he is currently working with on a new album.

"I'm halfway through the next Gorillaz album at the minute," he said. "That's going to be interesting and different again.

"This next time around there will be a lot going on in it."

Albarn is also in the process of bringing his opera Monkey: Journey To The West back to London after it enjoyed success at the Royal Opera House over the summer.

The show, which is performed entirely in Mandarin, is to be staged in the confines of the 02 Arena from 12 November.

Damon Albarn said: "After we staged it at the Royal Opera House there was the question of what do we do with it next.

"There was definitely the interest and demand to come back to London.

"We needed to find somewhere else and we were approached by the 02. They asked whether we would like to work with them and bring it back to London.

"So we decided to build our own tent and make our own world. For kids it's a magical other world and for adults they can relax and enjoy themselves."

The opera is based on ancient Chinese stories which feature the character of Monkey, a monk called Tripitaka, half man-half animal Piggsy and Sandy the water demon.

It was turned into a cult TV show in the 1970s.

I can't believe i download kaiser chiefs - employment just because of this. my curious ear's tingling as they mentioned Blur more than one times. Yes kaiser chiefs is the new Blur they said. i've heard about kaiser chiefs is a modern day of blur. but it's the article above who encourage me to download the album.. ahahaha i remember laughing at my lil brother when he played Kaiser Chief loudly from iTunes. and i remember how i hated this band so much. my friend Tiaz who had lived in Leeds, once said to me that this band was freakin arrogant. blah. to download their album doesnt mean i could be liking' em. hehehe but no one knows the future, not even damon. (???)

Actually i don't have any news about TGTBTQ lately. but this one is tingling my ears. i just downloaded their bootleg, live at Koln, Germany on 2007. and i found this quirk song named Mr Whippy.
First, Damon introduced the song in i-don't-understand-the lingo. then he started the keyboard tunes..(which is so damon) then he sang in i-don't-understand-the lingo, something about Islam he said before in the introduction, then i thought he sang in Arabic. WUT WUT?? cool!! but weird!!
So i search it in last.fm (okay, don't try searching a song in last.fm:p), cos i really curious, did he really sing arabic? then they give me a name, Eslam Jawaad. He's an Iraq rapper. they did a collaboration in this song which appear in TGTBTQ Herculean CD. The videos on youtube said so.

at this point, i knew that TGTBTQ had collaborated with Eslam Jawaad in Mr.Whippy. But in this song, why does it sound like Damon??? apart from the kinda annoying breath-taking between the line (gasp gasp gasp, like a fish need some air) can someone pls tell me? what in the world of Damon is going on?
